the U.N. representative at lunch today, "The U.N. has had trouble dealing with individual dictatorships around the world. How will you deal with terrorist groups that are not part of any nation/state?" His answer: "The Obama administration administration
will try to find common ground with nations like Russia and China."
He added, "There are some situations that the U.N. may not be the best organization to solve the problem."

Thanks so much for doing this - I'm going to enjoy following along from home.
I went on a CloseUp trip myself back in 1975 and learned so much.
That's an interesting comment. I'd like to hear more like this about what the speakers have to say when time permits.
